STYLE // Johnny Cupcakes: Living the Dream Without Selling Out

“I’ve done it without going your typical route. No college education, no start up loans, no investors, no wholesaling or help from giant stores, and little-to-no advertising. I’ve managed to employ both of my parents, my sister, my neighbor, and all of my close friends so that they don’t have to work jobs they don’t enjoy.” – Johnny Earle
Back in 2000, little did Johnny Earle know that his cupcake idea would turn into a multi-million dollar empire. It has been a decade since Johnny Cupcakes set up shop from the trunk of his ’89 Toyota Camry and since then, he has opened two stores in Massachusetts and one along Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles, CA.
His clothing line is found worldwide and is a fan favorite of the streetwear scene. He also releases his gear in limited quantity and sticks to the idea of keeping his products unique, fresh and exclusive. Keeping his line limited, he establishes a well profound brand, one that is memorable.
For the future entrepreneurs out there, Johnny Cupcakes is a living dream turned reality. Literally from rags to riches, Johnny has done heavy duty work throughout the 10 years of the business. One thing we can all agree on is that he made it doing what he loves.
