SOCIAL // The Hundreds Is Huge In Santa Monica
The Hundreds is huge. It’s the truth behind The Hundreds’ clothing brand and where they stand in streetwear culture. They are a company similar to us in the respect that they blend both trades of blogging and designing quality products. They hold their roots in Southern California where their interest lies in skate, music, and Socal design. Through the years they have hustled hard and their success is a byproduct of all the blood, sweat, and tears. They hold an unstoppable momentum in an over-saturated industry. They made it.

Day trips are an adrenaline rush. For the past year and a half, I’ve done a couple of day trips to Los Angeles for business and they follow a familiar format that my body is still not used to. Wake up around 3:30AM, drive and arrive at the airport at 5:30AM, and hop on a flight from SMF to LAX and touch down at 7:30AM, and I’m just warming up. That’s already 4 hours and time will not wait for anyone.

It’s one day to spend my time extremely wisely. From the moment I touch down at LAX, the timer starts ticking and I usually have about 12 hours before I say goodbye to LA LA land. Within that time frame, you push your journalist’s instincts and discover content that relates closely to your brand. You look for stories within the details and manage to squeeze all those chapters in the allotted time frame. It’s a tight schedule, but it’s one that challenges you to do your best.

So what does this story of traveling have to do with The Hundreds? It’s simple. It reminds me that some of the greatest things in life are a product of hard work, long hours, and dedication. It reminds me that years ago, The Hundreds built their brand by putting in the time and working crazy work schedules. They broke through boundaries by making financial sacrifices or even giving up a normal sleep schedule to satisfy their thirst for creating great products.

So here we stand at The Hundreds at Santa Monica, one of their many unique flagship stores. I’ve visited this place through blogs, but up until last weekend, I never knew how design centered and amazing this place is. It’s a place with an inspiring story to tell. It gives me a taste of things to come. The Hundreds is huge.
