PHOTO COVERAGE // JDMST EOMM and Evo Track Day

The usual JDMST end of month meets are held at car parks and local venues, but for last month’s meetup we headed to Eastern Creek which coincidently had the Evo track day on show as well. Our section that it was held in was known as the “Show and Shine” area which a selection of cars were able to park at. It was a cold and an early morning start to the day, but as the day progressed it became warmer and a laid back place to be from the usual.

Being only Mitsubishi Evos allowed on the actual race track lead to the Show and Shine area being mostly packed at times. The turnout was very plausible with having another show of highly modified rides. Even though the turnout isn’t as big in car population, the level of modified cars made up for it. Shane’s black Toyota Supra always draws a crowd with his known reputation at the meetups having some more work done to his time attack/daily driven car.

It was a unique atmosphere at Eastern Creek raceway. On one end there were the hard-core tracked Evos and some that were out there for some fun. In the middle was Show and Shine by JDM Style Tuning for all the spectators in between and on the far end was the motorkhana for the Evos as well. Overall, it was a very enjoyable and relaxing day with everyone open and more than happy to discuss their rides. Being on the top paddock area, watching all the Evos drive down the main straight and the motorkhana was a neat sight to see. Everything being reasonably close together meant that it wasn’t a long walk to watch whatever was on display and hearing the Evos fly down the straight at full throttle topped off the whole day.
