INSPIRATION // The Alchemist For Proper Living

According to the Old King from The Alchemist, “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” (Coelho 22). Most individuals have heard of the common alternative versed as, “Everything happens for a reason.” It is the theory that whatever happens in our lives, good or bad, is meant to fuel us towards where we want to be. It is, in essence, the fundamental inspiration behind what we do.
I’m halfway through the The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and I’m very impressed by the amount of knowledge this book contained. Page by page there are plenty of valuable and wise teachings. Also, it provides a meaningful escape which challenges one to see life with a new perspective.
Like I said in an earlier verse, this book reinforces a lot of what we believe in and our actions. We wanted to create a place for individuals to see a new perspective. Also, we wanted people to dream harder than their minds can handle. We wanted people to challenge themselves in order to move forward.
In addition, the outlook carries on a positive notion. “…all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” says the Old King. In essence, we can view negatives as positives. The Negatives that we face in our daily lives challenges us to grow. Likewise, negatives allows us to yearn for positives by motivating us to move forward.
Think of the last time something bad happened to you. Tough time wasn’t it? It may have made you feel down or incapable of doing anything. However, once you realized you could stand up after the fall, you became stronger. You realized that you were capable of things you thought you could not do. You felt you were closer to what you wanted to accomplish.
The Alchemist creates a strong foundation for our mentality. I’ve only mentioned one valuable line from the book, but there’s more. With its wise words the writing holds a priceless value, a value that we promote.
