Timelapse Chalk Typography Through Hampton Creative

By on Oct 27, 2012 in ART & DESIGN | 2 comments

I got hooked to chalk typography right after I spotted Dana Tanamachi’s amazing work. It was cool to see an alternative process to typography without using the digital palette and it was also nice to see how her work reflected the heritage of sign makers of the past. With only chalk in her hand, she was able to create great and detailed banners and ads that have been featured in a variety of NYC shops and even print publication such as Oprah’s “O, The Oprah Magazine.” Design team Hampton Creative knows and details the art as well and I recently stumbled upon a time-lapse of their 10th anniversary chalk typography exhibit. Peek the amazing work process below and start your weekend inspiration...

SOULECTION 100TH AFTER SHOW X New Wave Soul In SoCal

2012 has got to be one of the best years for Fitted Life and I. I’m truly grateful to have been a huge part of the ride to Fitted Life’s current success – on top of the connections and networks we’ve made this past year. One event which I’m particularly grateful for is getting acquainted and befriending Joe Kay & Andre Power of SOULECTION. I’ve partnered up with these guys in a past photo coverage of San Diego’s very own Freddie Joachim & AbJo’s live performance at Kava Lounge. Since then, I’ve remained in close contact with the two and documenting live art shows and music events in the Southern California area. I love attending these events to show some love with high appreciation for local artist. Their degree of passion to the arts brings back so much energy towards the community. I’ve been photographing these events since April and it has been a great experience. For...

The new Scion FR-S is hands down my favorite production car of 2012 and on all levels does this car shout awesomeness. The balance of power and aesthetics is all packed beautifully in this collaboration between Toyota and Subaru and it’s great that people are already tuning up the FR-S. What’s even more awesome is Miura-san’s Rocket Bunny fitted Scion FR-S. I caught glimpse of this car through the usual car blogs, but only through the video lens of Luke Huxham of Maiham Media that I saw this piece of artwork come to life. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this fresh video highlighting Miura-san’s Scion FR-S gracing the streets of Japan. It’s quite tasteful...

Typography Sketching All Over Instagram

By on Oct 14, 2012 in ART & DESIGN | 0 comments

One of the main reasons I picked up an iPhone 5 was due to its incredible image quality. Its instant snap feature and sharp image stabilization was a handy novelty all in one. Also, it was a beter way of providing our Instagram followers a better view of some of the behind the scenes work I do for Fitted Life and a general glimpse of my travels and interest. I know some people are against using Instagram, but I feel like it’s the most convenient way of posting up ideas for Fitted Life and getting instant feedback. Also, it’s way easier to connect with our community and at the same time offer a little design inspiration. So, just in case you aren’t following @fittedlife on Instagram here’s some behind the scenes work I posted over last...
