MUSIC // Friday Night Mix – 6: Drasen’s End of the Year House Mix 2011

By on Mar 30, 2012 in MUSIC | 0 comments

It’s finally Friday and believe it or not, Northern California is actually shining with great weather. It’s time for a much needed hike, longboard session, or anything outdoorsy. The weather actually looks like those California invite commercials. I mean, of course we have palm trees, beaches, and sun tanning weather everywhere! What would California be without those elements? Except when you live in Northern California, you actually look forward to this amazing weather that Southern California is quite familiar with. Tonight’s mix features Drasen Rasmussen straight from Miami, Florida. He compiled a really nice 2011 end of year mix with some of my personal favorites from last year. Check out the tunes below. PLAYLIST 1. One (Dayo Nasty Mash-up) [Drasen's Babylon Intro Edit] 2. One Future Babylon (Joran & Malexes Remash) w/ Rockin’ With The Best (Acapella)...

NOTES // How Do You Rock Fitted Life? Vol.2

Our Defend the Stronghold tee has to be one of my favorites. This design was based off a mentality I’ve carried forward since starting this brand. It was the concept of a stronghold. A stronghold by nature is a place that cannot be destroyed, defeated, or taken down. It is built on the strongest materials to withstand any attack. Those words rang true for our brand. Fitted Life is a stronghold. It is a brand that has pressed forward even when the times were tough. We kept moving forward with confidence and strength and this tee is a tribute to that hard work and determination. It is a reminder of how we never gave up and we stood strong as a stronghold. In our second lookbook piece for our Spring/Summer 2012 showcase, I’ve sorted a dark colorway scheme with respect to the burgundy tee. The shoes are faded denim Vans, sunglasses are Gucci, belt is a plaid navy/red, and...

MUSIC // NERVO Nation For Feb.18.2012

Northern California is getting hammered by rain. It’s ridiculous for this time of year and it should be spring-like or summery by now. What happened to those 90 degree days that I despised? What happened to those days of wasting electricity on the A/C? I guess the whole weather system somehow shifted or the polar ice caps have melted just like in Waterworld. Anywho, it’s time to crunch out those summer tunes and mixes. Check out this neat mix from NERVO hosted by BPM radio. PLAYLIST 01) The Legend (Original Mix), Swanky Tunes, Matisse & Sadko 02) V.A.M.P. (Original Mix), Weekend Heroes & Paul Thomas 03) In My Mind (Axwell Mix) Ivan Gough & Feenixpawl feat Georgi Kay 04) Powahbunga (Orginal mix), Jerry Rekonius 05) Stereo Flo (Original Mix), The Drill 06) Wonderwall 2Night (Ken Loi Bootup) ***MASH UP OF THE MONTH*** 07) Opera House (James Talk remix for...

ART & DESIGN // 20 Artists, 20 Bikes, 10 Days and Orto Bikes

I admit that I jumped on the fixed gear bandwagon back in 2011. I spent a good chunk of change on an IRO bike and earlier this year I donated it to my father. He eventually converted the fixie to a one speed. I’m actually happy he made use of it and made it a smarter and safer bicycle to ride. I applaud fixed gear riders that can survive the long city treks. You guys and gals have guts! Meanwhile in Slovenia, 20 artists tackle on 20 bikes and rework them in 10 days for spring riding. It’s a race to the finish and everyone is battling it out. Okay, not really that intense, everyone is actually taking their time and enjoying their craft. Check out this fun little video produced by Multipraktik while we dust off our own...

SOCIAL // Steven Alan and the Big Island

Hawaii means more than a tourist destination to me since I was born in Wahiawa, Hawaii. My father was in the military and he was fortunate enough to spend his tour in Hawaii. Luckily enough, I was able to call it my birthplace. I couldn’t say that I actually lived there since I was so young back then, but I was able to visit a few years back. The place offers a different vibe compared to the mainland and it definitely leaves you with a breathtaking tropical scenery. Over the weekend, I came across this really cool film by Steven Alan documenting his trip to the Big Island with his awesome friends. He uses a lot of GoPros in this film which gave me tons of neat ideas to work with. Also, it really bumped up my feelings towards making the most out of life. It’s all about making every second count with the people that you love the most, friends and family. Check it out and if...
