Photo Roll Pt.2 | 2010 Redline Time Attack | Infineon Raceway

By on Oct 30, 2010 in MOTOR WORK | 0 comments

The headline photo says it all. Like I said in part one of our photo coverage, the rain owned us at Infineon Raceway. We had to work with the weather while the weather worked against us. But despite our drenched clothes, we were in a cheerful mood..no, really we were. A little tip: if you’re shooting under horrid weather conditions, get yourself an all-weather camera cover. Under conditions that we experienced at Infineon, the rain could’ve damaged all our gear. We managed to MacGyver some camera covers, so it worked out in the end. For the other smart photogs out on the track, they used these plastic sleeves for their lens and camera bodies. A brilliant idea that we fell short on. But the garage gave us plenty of neat shots to work with. Plus, it gave us a safe haven from the blistering chaotic winds outside! Exaggeration aside, it wasn’t that bad..but, nevertheless!...

Melyssa Grace Drifts Willow Spring

Melyssa Grace Drifting at Willow Springs from Jay Joo on Vimeo. So I’ll be attending a full day exam tomorrow, so I’m pre-blogging at the moment. I found this really neat video featuring Miss Formula Drift 2010 Melyssa Grace taking on the skid pad at Willow Spring. As Melyssa slides her S13 around the pad, she showcases that there’s more to her than just pretty looks. So yea, she just does some 360 beginner cone work and spins out occassionally in the video, but seriously now, I’m hella giving her props for just heading out and drifting her car! Just give her time and I’m pretty sure she’ll be ranking with the rest of the drifters in California. Check out her slide feature shot by Jay...

Photo Roll | The Chronicles 2 Year Anniversary Meet

This past Saturday was the Chronicles 2 Year Anniversary Meet. I was out shooting another show in LA when I got the call about this meet, so I headed back to Corona to check it out. The event gave me a chance to relax and meet up with some familiar faces. The environment was way different than the fast paced setting I felt at Formula Drift. At FD, all my conversations were short and to the point, with no chance to catch my breath. However, this time around, I was able to just chill and hang out with good company. Here is a taste of what went...

Photo Roll | Thunder Drift | Halloween Full Track 2010

By on Oct 28, 2010 in MOTOR WORK | 0 comments

After the rainstorm bathed SuperAm last weekend, Thunderhill lit up once again for Thunder Drift’s Halloween full track. I figured, hey, it’s Tuesday, there won’t be tons of drivers, but I was so wrong. The paddock area was filled with drifters and grippers ready to tackle the track. Thunderhill even had visitors from out of state, which was straight up legit. Though this was a drift/grip event, we had our fair share of off road rally moments.. Luckily for all of us, the storm happened two days prior to full track. So the ground wasn’t too muddy to ruin anyone’s run..except the ones who had to clean up the track. I’m not going to lie though, for those peeps who did dirt dip, my film roll hearted you all. Aside from the mishaps, the grippers were running out there in full force. Even Roy was in a gleeful mood..maybe..with his thumbs up! Oh LOOK!...
