Fatlace Classic was so hot. LITERALLY! It felt like 90 degrees out there. Though the weather felt horrid, well for me at least, Fatlace Classic nicely finished off the season. With fresh cars and dirty drifting, what more can you ask for? Before hitting up the car showcase, I went straight towards the drift pad. I almost got rejected until I flashed my super cool Fatlace media pass. After passing the gate, I headed to the line up where I ran into many familiar faces. A lot of Thunder Drift fam was out there repping TD hard. After a decent action shot session under the blistering Sun, I headed towards the car showcase, which thankfully had shade. There were plenty of fitted cars, but only a few actually stood out. Of course Mark’s Skylines are a definite show stopper, but we’ll get to that later. Usually I announce site wide updates on the other side, but this one is exclusive to Checked! IN GEAR. Weeks before I shot at Formula D Sonoma, I’ve been putting up these filler post featuring drift videos. Though I do love a good drift video, it wasn’t reflecting the FL site’s personality. From here on out, we’ll cover drifting of course, but feast your eyes on global car culture and the details that we all love. Today’s video features San Francisco based company GoCar. These GPS guided tour cars keeps passengers entertained while riding through the busy streets of SF. Due to its compact design, the GoCars...

I prefer the motivation behind driving a fast yet street legal car. For one, you don’t have to worry about getting reffed. Also, you achieve some sanity while pressing hard on that throttle. But, as many of you know a quick car can quickly drain your cash flow. Regardless of the situation, it’s nice to see manufacturers build some impressive cars such as the 2011 Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale. Build a fast, attractive and light car as possible. This was the mindset Maserati carried forward through the production of the GranTurismo MC Stradale. They wanted to create a dynamic car capable of cornering hard. Assuming from the design concept, we can expect this fortune to be built on loads of carbon fiber. Estimates show this would shed about 4100 pounds from the normal GranTurismo S. Aside from the weight savings, the GranTurismo MC Stradale’s undisclosed engine...
